And yet another movie star becomes Governor of California. Arnold Schwarzenegger, Mr. Governor.

So Ontario has survived another provincial (i.e. state) election. Only 57% of the eligible voters bothered to vote. It was a landslide majority for the provincial Liberals (i.e. Democrats). Of course, though the Liberals would have you believe that voters believed in their platform, the truth is that Canadians never vote *for* any party; they only vote *against* a party. The goal of the entire election was to kick the Conservatives (i.e. Republicans) out. Unfortunately that just doesn't lead to good government. Oh well, we get to try it again in November for the municipal elections...
